Fighting the good fight

When a person nears the end of their life it would seem that they take an account of the experiences they have lived thru and they take an assessment of where they are at and the things they feel they could have done. Oh how my life would have been so different had I…It’s not that the process is a bad thing, per se; but I tend to question the seemingly crippling affects the process has on what is left of their life.

The Golden Years aren’t quite what is portrayed when the person livin them are trapped in thoughts of how their life hasn’t measured up to their expectations. Spending years spinning and weaving the life they created, they’ll turn their eyes to the Creator, with question and doubt as if they have discovered some flaw in the process. It’s a foolish and ignorant thought process.

I, of all people know, you can’t simply will your desires and dreams into existence.  Anyone who claims different is a liar. I have tried that on numerous occasions and failed miserably every time. So who are you to doubt or lose faith in the process? Every step, every place, every measure that brought you to where you are was set. Planned, organized, ordained according to a plan and purpose of your life that you haven’t been privy to throughout it.

That’s ok. Being ignorant of the purpose of your life is of no detriment to its outcome. You’ll know when you need ta know. In its perfect time, serving its perfect purpose. The way it’s supposed ta be.

You were not created to know. This is where the faith of things comes in. Have you aged so long you have forgotten?

You married who you married because you needed to. You had the kids you had because it was important that that they came from you. You can’t change or manipulate the fabric of the Universe simply because you desire something different. Your dreams, your desires, are just that…dreams and desires, nothing more. They are not grounded in reality. The reality of what is or what has come to be.

How can you not know this?

What is the measure of all the years you have spent living if not wisdom? Understanding? Surely the progression of all these years have proven the truth in the words I have written? If not…what hope is there for those of us that are behind? What words of comfort would you give us, if you don’t believe it enough to spend your last days living it?

Was it all a lie? Some cruel joke?

Were the words you once spoke of belief, faith, and encouragement nothing more than words? If not, then how are your days spent in depression of things that were never meant to be? Is that not counter to everything your life up until this point has professed to be about?

What is your Legacy? What is it?…is this it?

That you should finish it stripped of all that you were. Bound in the depths of despair and grief of a life you were never meant to live?

Choices. Yes…we all have them. So what of the choices you have now? Would you allow the choices you have now to live your last days in accomplishment and victory to be robbed? There is that which would love to rob you of that. Rob you of your Legacy. You know of what it is that I speak.

Don’t. Allow. It. To. Happen.

Of all the fights you have spent your entire life fighting to win…this is one you can not fail. It’s imperative to every contact that you have made throughout your life, to every life you have touched, every whisper you have uttered of belief, that you finish strong.

So that the rest of us, those that are right behind you, have some hope. Something…anything…that shows us that the shit we are going thru has been with a purpose and has been worth it.

1 Timothy 6:12…adhere to your roots.
