Type Four: The Romantic.

The need to be unique. Type fours can be described as the “free spirits” of the nine personality profile types. They have such a deep rooted desire to be different. They immediately view the world around them as a “status quo” and choose to abstain from it. Comfortably happy to hang on the outside, yet fully aware of what others have and what they do not.

Type fours are what has been called a “sweet tragedy”. Prone to anxiety and depression; type fours have an inherent NEED to be depressed, or at least, occasionally. Their comfort zones require times of regret, sorrow, and reflection. Its from that place where they can “recharge”; gain a sense of self, and garner the strength to continue.

Type fours tend to dress a bit different, dance more, and use more of their creative abilities. They’ll fight for the rights of animals they’ve only seen in pictures. They can be somewhat self destructive in their pursuits. Often sexually promiscuous.

Their root sin is: Envy. Whether it’s what others have or the good time others are having; type fours long to have what others have and they do not. Although, that isn’t always related to material possessions. Sometimes its just a perception type fours have of how others must feel while living their life. Deep inside, they think, “I wish I had that”, “They seem so happy”, etc. . A truth that many type fours are adamantly unwilling to admit.

Such a desire to obtain what others in the world around them have; yet when presented with the opportunity to obtain it, type fours will reject it in an effort to be non-conformist. Striving for goals that are conveniently always out of reach. “Death is such sweet sorrow”.

Type fours need to embrace themselves as God’s creation. Wonderfully created and find contentment in Him. Only then will they find contentment and peace.

Some suggested study scriptures for type fours would be: Proverbs 23:10, 1 Corinthians 13:4, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Peter 2:1-2, Romans 13:13, Ecclesiastes 4:4, Galatians 6:4, Philippians 1:15, Proverbs 14:30.
